Navigation • ConfigurationFront End - Virtual ShowroomThere is no configuration to be done for the front end. This will be taken care of for you by opcs. Should you at some point move web host provider be sure to contact opcs about how the specifics of your move will affect the SleepingSalesman system. Back End - SleepingSalesman Administration ModuleThe SleepingSalesman Administration Module (well refer to it as SSAM for brevity) is pretty simple to configure. It's a matter of entering your login details (username and password) for your web server. These details allow SSAM to read and write your product details to your website.
Some settings in SSAM are written to the application & accompanying data files. This is part of the copy protection system that ensures the version you have only works for your site. This has the bonus for you of making the configuration of SSAM very simple and means you don't have to find strange cryptic information each time you install SSAM. This does mean however, if you move web server providers you may have to contact opcs if any of the locked settings have changed. For the sake of having the information however here is a list and description of what the settings mean: -
* opcs requires these settings before we can install the SleepingSalesman system. Don't worry if you don't know them straight away. opcs can help you retrieve them from your web hosts ** While these values are required by opcs to install & integrate the Virtual Showroom on your website, they are not locked into SSAM. This is a basic security precaution to ensure that if your copy protected version of SSAM escapes your company the thief will be unable to access your Web Server and damage your site.
The section to the right of the settings window simply displays the system paths for SSAM. This is the folders and files that make up your database. Feel free to take a look at these areas but be very careful about deleting or editing any of the files found here. Most settings are stored in an encrypted form in your accompanying .ssc (SleepingSalesman Configuration File). Do not attempt to tamper with these files as SSAM may stop working. |
