Introduction

The opcs SleepingSalesman system is a virtual showroom system designed to be easily updated by yourself. This give you ultimate control over how quickly your products are displayed and also how the products are presented to your customers.

The term "Sleeping Salesman" comes from the motor trade to mean any system used to help sell product without necessarily needing a human salesman to be present.

This user manual will take you through the basic and advanced topics of the SleepingSalesman system.

There are two parts to the SleepingSalesman system. Firstly, there is the front end. This is the part your customers see and is the virtual showroom. Secondly, there is also the SleepingSalesman Administration Module (well refer to it as SSAM for brevity). This is the backend of the system and is where you can add/remove/edit the products on display in the front end.

Requirements

Customer

  • Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Konqueror, Safari or any other modern web browser.
  • Flash 7 - If it's not present the user is offered a chance to easily install/upgrade.

Website

A standard web server (Windows or Linux) will be able to run the SleepingSalesman system. It requires nothing special running on the web server. However if you wish to use the remote linking** feature then your web server. must support PHP. Contact your host providers.

Administration PC

The computers that run the SSAM must meet the following requirements: -

  • Windows 2000 or above
  • Internet Explorer 5.0 or above.
  • Internet access must be available.
