Managing Vehicle Types

SleepingSalesman can support as many types of vehicle as you require. It's simply a matter of you adding more as needed.

A vehicle type is defined as the body style although you may use any definition you see fit.

From the Administration menu, select "Add/Remove Types"

You will be presented with the following screen: -

Adding a Type

In the box marked "New Type " enter the name of the type you want to add.
Press the button marked "Add Type " to add the type to SleepingSalesman. If successful the new type will be added to the list.

Notes

We recommend keeping the text formatting the same for all your types. I.E. if they are written as "SALOON", "Saloon" or "saloon" then it is best that any new types you add use the same formatting. This is just for consistency and doesn't actually affect the performance of the system.

If you're adding a vehicle that doesn't have a type in the list, it's best to create the new type before creating the vehicle.

Deleting A Type

Select the type you want to delete from the list marked "Types".
Press the button marked "Delete Selected Type ".

Notes

When you delete a type, you must make sure to update any vehicles assigned to that type. Otherwise it will not appear in the searchable list your customers see.

Once you press the "Delete Selected Type" button, there is no going back.
